Staged at the iconic Meydan Racecourse, the Dubai World Cup 2023 demanded a lighting design on a truly monumental scale. One capable of matching the spectacle, precision, and global attention of one of the world’s premier racing events.

ARLD delivered a high-impact lighting system comprising over 1,000 fixtures, transforming the venue into a dynamic canvas of light. The design balanced raw power with finesse, capable of delivering bold, stadium-scale moments while maintaining the clarity and control required for broadcast and live audience experience.

At the core of the rig were the Elation Proteus Maximus and Elation Proteus Excalibur, fixtures chosen for their intensity, precision, and ability to cut through ambient light at extreme distances. These were supported by a diverse system incorporating fixtures from Robe Lighting, Martin Professional, GLP, Astera, and Ayrton, creating a versatile toolkit to respond to the scale and complexity of the show.

From sweeping aerial effects across the grandstands to tightly controlled architectural highlights, the lighting design elevated the event beyond sport, delivering a layered visual experience that reinforced the Dubai World Cup’s reputation for world-class production.
