Sikka Art Festival 2024
The 2024 edition of Sikka Art Festival marked the first collaboration between ARLD and Room 5 Creative, bringing a new lighting approach to the historic setting of the Al Shindagha Heritage Museum.
Working across a network of heritage houses, courtyards, and streets, the design centred on revealing the character of the architecture while supporting a diverse range of contemporary artworks. A key feature of the installation was the extensive use of ETC Source Four fixtures, with hundreds deployed throughout the site, each fitted with custom glass gobos to project intricate patterns and textures that echoed the identity of the festival and its surroundings.
This was complemented by a large supporting system of moving profiles, wash lights, and uplighters, allowing for a layered and adaptable approach across both interior and exterior spaces. The result was a balance between precision and atmosphere, combining sharp, detailed projection with soft architectural illumination and dynamic accents where required.
As a first collaboration, the project established a clear visual language for Sikka after dark, one that would continue to evolve in the years that followed.
