Sikka Art Festival 2025
Returning to the historic setting of the Al Shindagha Heritage Museum for a second consecutive year, ARLD was once again invited to illuminate Sikka Art Festival, further developing a lighting language that bridges contemporary art with cultural heritage.
Building on the foundations of the previous edition, the 2025 design expanded across a network of traditional houses, courtyards, and narrow streets, extending into landscaped gardens and natural foliage. The approach focused on subtle intervention using light to reveal texture, guide movement, and create moments of discovery without overwhelming the artworks or the architecture.
With installations spread across a large and varied footprint, the system was designed for flexibility and continuity, allowing each space to maintain its own identity while contributing to a cohesive visual experience. From intimate interior pieces to open-air pathways, lighting played a key role in shaping how audiences engaged with the festival after dark.
The result was an evolving dialogue between light, space, and storytelling, reinforcing Sikka as a platform where art and environment exist in balance.
