Sikka Art Festival 2026

Set within the historic fabric of the Al Shindagha Heritage Museum, Sikka Art Festival 2026 transformed a network of traditional houses, courtyards, and streets into a large-scale immersive lighting experience. Spanning over a kilometre of promenade, the project extended through gardens, natural foliage, and a diverse collection of exhibition spaces, each requiring a sensitive and site-specific approach.

The lighting design focused on enhancing both art and architecture without overpowering either. Working across a heritage environment demanded restraint and precision, accentuating textures, guiding audience movement, and creating visual cohesion across a wide and varied footprint, while respecting the integrity of the site.

A significant portion of the rig was built around Martin MAC Viper XIP fixtures, with approximately 200 units deployed as a consistent backbone throughout the installation. In total, the system exceeded 1,000 fixtures, carefully distributed to provide flexibility, scalability, and control across multiple zones and disciplines.

From intimate interior artworks to expansive outdoor pathways, the result was a unified lighting language that connected the entire festival, bridging contemporary art with historical context through light.
